Market Overview

South Korea operates an extensive high-speed rail network (KTX) alongside a comprehensive urban subway system in Seoul and other major cities. Korea Rail Network Authority (KRNA) is extending the KTX to underserved regions. The Seoul Metropolitan Subway is one of the world's busiest, with ongoing extensions and new line openings. South Korea is a significant exporter of rail technology, with Hyundai Rotem manufacturing rolling stock for markets in the US, UK, Egypt, and Southeast Asia. KORAIL and Seoul Metro are actively pursuing overseas consultancy and management contracts.
