Alstom, FCC, RATP Dev, John Laing & Meridiam Sign MoU for Dublin Metrolink Bid

Alstom, Meridiam, John Laing, RATP Dev and FCC have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formally establish a consortium that will submit a bid for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of Dublin’s MetroLink. The consortium partners will come together to prepare and submit a proposal for the transport project, with the group already preparing both the pre-qualification and bidding phases. An artist impression of Collins Avenue Station © MetroLink Dublin’s proposed MetroLink project will see the implementation of a fully automated, driverless metro system that aims to connect major transport hubs and key destinations across the Greater Dublin Area, as well as provide the first direct rail link between Dublin city centre and the city’s airport. The consortium looks to incorporate Alstom’s experience with metro systems and rail technology, FCC’s track record with large-scale infrastructure projects and RATP Dev’s operational and maintenance experience, alongside financial backing from Meridiam and John Laing. The MetroLink line will consist of 19.4 kilometres of fully segregated railway serving 16 stations from the north of Swords to Charlemont in the south. The route will be mostly underground and will connect residential communities such as Swords, Ballymun and Glasnevin with the City Centre and Dublin Airport.
