Alstom will exhibit a broad portfolio of rail and transit technologies at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) EXPO 2026 in Chicago, from 5 to 7 October. The company will occupy Booth 1806, where interactive displays will demonstrate how digital technologies, infrastructure and services can be integrated to support transit operations and passenger services. Highlights include FlexCare Perform, Alstom’s rail maintenance service for various rail assets, and the Citadis light‑rail vehicle platform tailored for the North American market. Alstom will also showcase its experience with integrated and connected transit systems, citing the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) automated metro in Montréal as a key example.

The exhibition will feature Alstom’s work with U.S. transit agencies. The company has supplied more than 4,200 subway cars to New York City Transit for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) since 1983 and has recently received an order for more than 300 commuter‑rail cars for the Long Island Rail Road and Metro‑North Railroad, to be built at Alstom’s Hornell, New York facility. Alstom also manufactured 28 trainsets for Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, the fastest trains in the United States, and delivered 1,000 rail cars to the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system as part of its Fleet of the Future programme. In Southern California, Alstom has worked with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority for over 30 years, providing train‑crew and customer services, rolling‑stock maintenance and facility upkeep for Metrolink.

Additional displays will cover Alstom’s automated people‑mover (APM) system at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where the Innovia APM has operated since 1980 and new vehicles are now being delivered. The APTA presence will also include Alstom’s long‑term maintenance contract with Metro de Panamá S.A. for the Panama City metro network, an order from Västtrafik for 35 additional Avelia Stream Nordic X80 trains, and a contract with Saudi Arabia Railways to support its North Freight fleet. The event will also feature the first battery‑electric FLIRT train for the U.S. market, presented by Stadler and Metra.
