The contract involves the construction of approximately 36 kilometers of railway track, including significant earthworks as well as 28 bridges and three viaducts, one of which is a major structure spanning 1.4 kilometers. The contract will begin with an initial four-month stage dedicated to establishing collaborative modes between the client and partners. This will be followed by a design and planning phase of about 14 months, aimed at jointly defining technical solutions, scheduling, and the cost of execution.

This initial phase was ordered at the end of March for a total amount of 50 million euros. The execution phase is estimated at approximately 1.2 billion euros and could start at the beginning of 2028.

Consortium Composition and International Expertise

The Feronord consortium brings together Infrakraft (47%), Bouygues Travaux Publics (41.5%), and Colas Rail (11.5%). The selection is based on the international expertise of Bouygues Travaux Publics and Colas Rail in carrying out large railway projects in France, the United Kingdom, and Morocco, as well as on the local presence of Infrakraft, which allows for the integration of local specifics and close collaboration with stakeholders.

The consortium proposed innovative technical solutions adapted to the Swedish context, aiming to optimize project performance, operational safety, and completion timelines.
