Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited, in joint venture with HBMCPL, has emerged as the lowest bidder for a railway construction tender awarded by Northeast Frontier Railway Construction, with a net offer value of approximately Rs 137.60 crore.
The tender, awarded on Hybrid-EPC mode, covers earthwork in formation and cutting, blanketing, construction of RCC box, RCC and PCC drains, retaining walls and toe walls, nine minor bridges and one Road Over Bridge, along with railway electrification works comprising design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of overhead equipment, electrical works, and signalling and telecom works. The scope of work spans the stretch from Kokrajhar station, excluding the station itself, to CH-4.100, and from Salakati station, excluding the station itself, to CH-0.400.
This stretch marks the starting chainage of the new railway line between Kokrajhar and Gelephu, a 69 kilometre cross-border rail link announced at a total project cost of approximately Rs 3,456 crore under the India-Bhutan inter-governmental memorandum of understanding signed in September 2025, connecting the Indian rail network to Gelephu in the Kingdom of Bhutan. The project is among the most significant cross-border rail investments planned for Northeast India, and under this contract, Brahmaputra Infrastructure will execute the very first construction package on the corridor.
The company said the win establishes the Brahmaputra Infrastructure-HBMCPL joint venture as the first contractor of record on the Kokrajhar-Gelephu line, positioning it to build an early working relationship with Northeast Frontier Railway Construction as further packages are floated along the corridor. The company said it is well placed to bid for and execute this upcoming pipeline as the line progresses toward Gelephu, in line with the broader push to strengthen rail connectivity along India's border with Bhutan.
The company will make a further disclosure to the exchange upon receipt of the formal Letter of Acceptance or execution of the definitive contract agreement with Northeast Frontier Railway Construction.
Brahmaputra Infrastructure Limited is an infrastructure construction company engaged in civil, road and railway engineering, procurement and construction projects, with a focus on projects across Northeast India.
