CPTM inicia operação conjunta com Trivia Trens na Linha 13-Jade e Expresso Aeroporto
Article Summary
Source-basedOn 6 October 2026 the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPT M) began a new phase of operation for Trivia Trens on Line 13‑Jade and the Airport Express service. Under a controlled‑supervision arrangement, Trivia Trens will conduct train driving, station customer service and maintenance of equipment such as elevators and escalators, while CPT M will monitor operations on site. The supervision period is scheduled to end on 25 October 2026, with no changes to timetables, headways or passenger integrations during this time.
The move follows Trivia Trens’ removal from Lines 11‑Coral, 12‑Safira and 13‑Jade on 24 July 2026 after a precautionary measure by the Agência Reguladora de Transportes do Estado de São Paulo (ARTESP) citing operational failures. The agency required the concessionaire to submit a corrective action plan that included training schedules, procedural reviews and emergency protocol enhancements. Since the end of July, CPT M has supervised practical exercises on inter‑train transfers, aerial network fault response and activation of the PAESE emergency support plan.
ARTESP’s investigation continues on two fronts: a sanctioning process examining the concessionaire’s conduct during the July incident, and a technical inquiry by the Comissão Permanente de Segurança (COPESE) into the incident’s root causes. The 90‑day control period over Lines 11, 12 and 13 will be fully observed as approved by ARTESP.
If Trivia Trens successfully completes this supervised phase, it will be cleared to resume full operation of the remaining contracted services. Lines 11‑Coral and 12‑Safira will enter a similar pre‑operational transition on 26 October, moving to assisted operation on 26 November, following the same supervision model.
