Metro‑North will operate eight additional post‑game trains after each American League Division Series game between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium. The service is built around the Yankee Clipper, a game‑day train that runs directly to the stadium with no change. For the series, Clippers operate on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines, and Metro‑North is adding trains before and after the games.
On the Hudson Line, two Yankee Clipper trains will run from Croton‑Harmon to the stadium. After each game, Metro‑North will run three post‑game trains: one to Croton‑Harmon and two to Poughkeepsie. On the Harlem Line, a direct train leaves Southeast at 4:26 p.m. and reaches the stadium at 5:49 p.m.; one post‑game train will return to Southeast after each game. On the New Haven Line, two direct trains leave New Haven at 4:07 p.m. and 4:47 p.m., reaching the stadium at 6:08 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.; after each game, four trains will serve the line: one to Stamford and three to New Haven.
In total, Metro‑North will schedule eight additional post‑game trains after each game: three on the Hudson Line, one on the Harlem Line and four on the New Haven Line. Shuttle trains and regular trains that add a stop at the stadium are not part of that figure. The increase from seven trains in 2025 to eight in 2026 is due to the addition of a second post‑game train to Poughkeepsie on the Hudson Line. The MTA published the game‑day train schedule on October 6, 2026, and the service will run on all three lines for the Yankees–Rays playoff games.
