As part of the master plan for the development of Bishkek until 2050, the implementation of three new public transport systems is proposed. This decision aims to improve the transport infrastructure of the capital and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
Creation of Railway Communication
The urban railway transport will provide passenger services along the route west - center - east, connecting the villages of Kozhomkul and Novopokrovka. The project plans to electrify 28.1 km of railway line, construct second tracks on single-track sections, and reconstruct four stations, including "Bishkek-1" and "Bishkek-2". Additionally, four new stops will be built, four existing ones will be reconstructed, and a railway depot will be constructed.
Development of the Tram Network
Light rail transport, or tram, will provide passenger services in the directions south - center and southwest - southeast, with the possibility of transferring to other types of transport, such as bus stations and "Manas" airport. The project includes the construction of tram lines with a total length of 66.8 km and one tram depot.
Implementation of the BRT System
The BRT system, with a total length of 68.4 km, will serve the north - south and north - center directions. BRT buses will connect the city with key transport hubs, including bus stations and the international airport "Manas". These measures aim to create a more convenient and efficient transport system for the residents of the capital.
