Rail Forum has announced that Rail Safety Week 2027 will run from 21 to 27 June 2027. The event is intended to bring the rail industry together and place safety firmly in the spotlight, reinforcing the shared commitment to ensuring everyone who uses, works on, or lives near the railway returns home safe, every day.
More than 150 organisations participated in the 2026 edition. Carlisle Support Services will continue as the headline sponsor for 2027. Paul Evans, Chief Executive Officer at Carlisle Support Services, said the company is proud to return as headline sponsor for the second time and that safety is at the heart of everything they do. He added that the sponsorship reflects an ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with industry partners to raise awareness, share best practice and help make railways safer for everyone.
Rail Safety Week provides a dedicated platform for organisations across the sector to share ideas, highlight good practice and start important conversations about safety. Throughout the week, organisations are encouraged to plan and share activities that put safety at the forefront, such as briefings and toolbox talks, site and depot initiatives, learning sessions, leadership conversations, employee engagement, community outreach and digital campaigns. By sharing activity across the industry, the week helps good practice travel further and encourages continued learning and collaboration.
Elaine Clark OBE, CEO of Rail Forum and Industry Lead for Rail Safety Week, said the week offers an important opportunity for the industry to come together around a shared commitment to safety. She urged everyone to get involved in 2027 and help keep safety at the forefront of everything they do. The event is open to the whole rail community, and organisations can take part by developing their own events, sharing safety messages with colleagues and customers, and joining the wider conversation across social media. Further information, resources and updates will be shared through the Rail Safety Week website and social media channels, and organisations are encouraged to share their activity so it can be amplified across the Rail Safety Week community.
