CZECH REPUBLIC: A consortium of Firesta, Pedasta and N+N has been selected to build the Olšanská – Habrová tramway extension in Praha.
The winning bid was priced at KC599.2m+VAT, almost KC110m below the estimate.
The majority of the 2 km long partly single-track route with six stops will be built on the alignment of the disused Praha-Žižkov – Praha-Malešice railway and on the site of the former Žižkov freight yard, which is being redeveloped as a new urban district.
Transport authority DPP expects construction of the line to begin in Q3 this year and take 12 months.
The project is being co-financed by the European Union from the CEF Transport Programme for 2021–27.
