PT PP Secures Main Contractor for Malolos–Clark Railway in Philippines
KBRN, Jakarta: PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PT PP), an Indonesian state-owned construction company, has been appointed as the main international contractor for the Malolos–Clark Railway Contract Package S-01 (CP S01) in the Philippines, valued at USD 6.8 million (IDR 3.16 trillion). The project is part of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), a 147-kilometer rail line that serves as a backbone for national mobility in the Philippines. PT PP is tasked with constructing a 1.2-kilometer elevated rail structure and a four-story station in the Blumentritt area of Metro Manila. “This contract demonstrates that PT PP is recognized not only domestically but also trusted by international project owners. We bring Indonesian standards of engineering, risk management, and green construction to a global level,” said PT PP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo in a statement released to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Thursday, October 30, 2025, as quoted by antaranews.com. Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the project reflects PT PP’s ability to meet stringent international selection standards in technical expertise, financial capacity, and governance. “This is a strong signal that the PTPP brand is now recognized alongside leading global contractors in Asia,” Joko added. Beyond enhancing Indonesia’s reputation, the company’s involvement in the NSCR project will strengthen its international portfolio, boost investor confidence, and open opportunities for future overseas projects, in line with PTPP’s Go Global 2025–2030 strategy. To execute the project in the densely populated heart of Metro Manila, PT PP is employing smart engineering and digital construction methods, including the Monoline Design for foundation efficiency to minimize land acquisition, the Giant Plumb Bob technology for high-precision bore pile alignment, and the ACC Document Routing system via Autodesk Construction Cloud to accelerate cross-team document verification. PT PP is also implementing green infrastructure principles, projected to reduce carbon emissions by up to 60,000 tons per year, supporting Southeast Asia’s sustainable development agenda. “With more international projects underway, PT PP continues to diversify revenue, expand global exposure, and strengthen market confidence in the company’s fundamentals,” Joko explained. The Malolos–Clark Railway project underscores PT PP’s financial and technical capabilities recognized by international institutions and foreign governments, highlighting its strategic role in elevating Indonesia’s presence in the global construction industry. “This is more than a rail project, it is a milestone for Indonesia’s construction sector on the world stage. PT PP is ready to expand its footprint, increase corporate value, and strengthen investor trust,” Joko concluded.
