Railway Improvement and Safety for Egypt Project

The development objective of the Railway Improvement and Safety Project for Egypt is to improve safety and service quality of the railway services along the Alexandria-Cairo-Nag Hammadi corridor. The project comprises of three components. The first component is safe system signaling modernization. It consists of following sub-components: (i) upgrading of the railway signaling system along the Cairo-Giza-Beni Suef line; (ii) completion of upgrades of the railway signaling system along the Cairo-Alexandria line; and (iii) completion of track upgrades at priority stations for the safe functioning
