Raspberry Software to unveil new unified revenue protection system at third annual seminar
Article Summary
Source-basedRaspberry Software will launch a new unified revenue protection system for train operating companies at its third annual Revenue Protection Seminar in Birmingham on 15 October. The event, held at the Burlington Hotel, will host around 80 senior rail industry representatives, including, for the first time, senior tram sector delegates. Attendees will hear from Jake Micsak of Waynova Group about the group’s global rail technology offering and its relevance to the UK market, and will participate in two interactive workshops focused on practical revenue protection challenges.
The new system consolidates existing penalty and prosecution processes into a single application, enabling train operating companies to make amendments quickly and cost‑effectively in response to future regulatory and industry changes. It builds on Raspberry Software’s earlier Fraud Module, launched in August, which integrates fraud‑related data and processes to help teams identify, investigate and manage complex cases. Raspberry Software highlighted that the Rail Delivery Group estimates £350 million to £400 million is lost each year through fraud and ticketless travel, underscoring the scale of the challenge.
Peter Jarvis, CEO of Raspberry Software, noted that revenue protection is evolving rapidly due to new payment technologies, changing fraud methods, regulatory shifts and increasing case complexity. He emphasized that the seminar’s growth reflects industry appetite for open discussion and practical knowledge sharing, and that the forum aims to foster honest conversations about challenges and future needs. The seminar’s focus on both rail and tram sectors reflects the increasingly complex revenue protection environment across different forms of public transport.
