Systra
VIETNAM: Systra has established a subsidiary in Vietnam, saying this would strengthen its presence at a time of ‘strong acceleration’ in the local market as the country pursues ‘ambitious’ growth objectives and invests in metro, regional and high speed rail projects.
Systra has been present in Vietnam for more than 20 years. It has supported the development of the Hanoi metro since 2007, and took part in the design of the elevated sections of Ho Chi Minh City metro Line 1. It is now involved in several high speed rail projects alongside public and private stakeholders including VinGroup, Masterise and Becamex.
The consultancy’s local subsidiary now has a main office in the Thảo Điền district of Ho Chi Minh City, and a project presence in Hanoi.
‘This new local presence enables the group to work as closely as possible with its Vietnamese clients and partners, while drawing on Systra’s international expertise in transport planning, civil engineering and railway systems studies, integration, project management and operational support’, said Patrick Desforges, Managing Director of Systra Vietnam, on June 29.
Frédéric Dufour, Senior Vice-President of Systra Asia, said the group was ‘moving from a project-based approach to a local platform approach, capable of structuring our development, anchoring our partnerships and mobilising the group’s international expertise at a pivotal moment’.
