Vossloh signs a contract in Sweden for turnouts estimated at EUR 70 million
July 27, 2026
German rail infrastructure equipment manufacturer Vossloh is to supply pre-assembled turnouts to the Swedish infrastructure manager Trafikverket under a framework agreement with an estimated value of approximately EUR 70 million. The contract will commence in 2027 and may remain in force for up to eight years.
The agreement signed by Vossloh with Trafikverket, the Swedish rail infrastructure manager, has an initial term of five years and may be extended for a further three years.
The value of approximately EUR 70 million has been calculated on the basis of anticipated order volumes. As this is a framework agreement, actual deliveries will depend on the orders placed by Trafikverket during its term.
Sweden is preparing railway investments worth EUR 45 billion
The turnouts will be used as part of Sweden’s programmes to maintain and modernise the rail network.
The national plan adopted in April provides for investments of approximately EUR 45 billion in rail infrastructure by 2037. The replacement and modernisation of turnouts is one of the key components of the programme.
“We are continuing to step up the pace and contribute to the modernisation of Sweden’s rail network. We are proud that Trafikverket continues to rely on us for its ambitious plans,” said Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh.
A new factory can produce 900 sets of turnouts per year
To meet growing demand, Vossloh has built a new turnouts factory at Sannahed, which was inaugurated in May.
The facility uses automated processes and robot-assisted production equipment. Capacity can reach 900 turnouts per year, three times more than at the previous factory.
According to the company, the new investment should enable delivery deadlines to be met and provide Trafikverket with the capacity needed to carry out its infrastructure modernisation programmes.
“With the new factory in Sannahed, we have made a deliberate investment in this partnership and are ready to reliably meet the ever-increasing demand,” added Oliver Schuster.
Vossloh has over 60 production sites
Headquartered in Germany, Vossloh manufactures rail fastening systems, concrete sleepers, turnouts and crossings, as well as digital solutions for infrastructure monitoring and predictive maintenance.
The company’s products are used on conventional and high-speed rail networks, as well as for heavy freight and urban transport, in over 100 countries.
The Group has approximately 5,500 employees, operates over 60 production facilities and recorded sales of EUR 1.3 billion in 2025.
